Super 8 sound reels have a thin magnetic stripe running along one edge (opposite the sprocket holes) carrying the original audio. We handle it directly, capturing both picture and audio together, in-house. Priced per foot. If you're not sure whether your reels have sound, look for that thin stripe along the edge of the film — or email us a photo and we'll check. Most orders are completed within 2–3 weeks of us receiving your film. Shipping your film to us is your responsibility; return shipping is calculated by weight and added at checkout.
Super8 sound film reels transferred by the foot to digital video files in HD 1920x1080 MP4 format. You'll be able to download your files or you can add on a USB flash drive.
Reel sizes by diameter for foot estimating:
3 inches = 50 ft (most popular) 4 inches = 100 ft 5 inches = 200 ft 7 inches = 400 ft
*Most reels 4 inches or larder will have hash marks every 50ft to help you estimate how much film is on the reel. This is especially helpful if the reel is not full.
Film estimates within 50 feet will be accepted at purchased price, additional footage will require supplemental invoicing.
