Silent 16mm film, transferred frame by frame in-house and priced per foot, so a handful of reels doesn't require committing to a full film box. Common in older family collections as well as school, church, and community archives from before consumer video cameras existed. If you're not sure whether your reels are 16mm or the more common 8mm/Super 8, measuring the film width (16mm vs. 8mm) settles it quickly — or email us a photo and we'll confirm for you at no charge. Silent 16mm film will have sprocket holes running down both sides of the film.

Most orders are completed within 2–3 weeks of us receiving your film. Shipping your film to us is your responsibility; return shipping is calculated by weight and added at checkout.

You'll be able to download your files or you can add on a USB flash drive. Files will be HD 1920x1080 in MP4 format.

Reel sizes by diameter for foot estimating:

3-Inch = 50 ft

3.6-Inch = 100 ft (typically the way film was returned after being developed)

5-Inch = 200 ft

6-Inch = 300 ft

7-Inch = 400 ft (most common)

9.25-Inch = 600 ft

10.5-Inch = 800 ft

12.25-Inch = 1200 ft

13.75-Inch = 1600 ft

15-Inch = 2000 ft

*Most reels 7 inches or larder will have hash marks every 50ft to help you estimate how much film is on the reel. This is especially helpful if the reel is not full.

Film estimates within 50 feet will be accepted at purchased price, additional footage will require supplemental invoicing.
